What’s new in 1.0?
Lots! Two new areas, big improvements to automation and mech customization, an ending to the main story, new Mods and Modes, balance changes, and much more!

When does 1.0 release?
Lightyear Frontier 1.0 will launch on 4 November 2026! It should arrive early in the evening for European players and early in the morning for US players.
What will happen to my save files at 1.0?
Nothing! Your old saves will still be there and you’ll be able to keep playing as normal.
Should I start a new save file for 1.0?
Starting a new save file will give you a more natural and better-flowing overall experience. We’ve made a lot of improvements to the whole game, especially in terms of balance and progression.
You don’t have to, though! 1.0 picks up where the Automation Update left off, so if you’re caught up you can head straight into the endgame.
I already own the game in Early Access. Will I need to purchase it again when 1.0 releases?
No! Your existing copy of the game will update to 1.0, just like with previous updates.
How much will Lightyear Frontier cost at 1.0?
Lightyear Frontier costs $29.99/€29.99/£23.49 (prices may vary in other regions).
Will 1.0 have new achievements?
Yes! Multiple, in fact!
Do the new achievements work with old saves?
Yes, you’ll be able to get the new achievements while playing on old saves.
Will the rest of the map be unlocked in 1.0?
Yes! We are adding two new areas to the game in 1.0: the Sandswept Highlands and the Hollow Marsh. Together they increase the world size by roughly 40%. While they are both late game areas, they will be unlocked from the start of the game.
What about the Legacy branch?
1.0 does not include any updates or changes to the Legacy branch.
Will Lightyear Frontier continue to get updates after 1.0?
We’ll keep improving Lightyear Frontier with bug fixes and improvements after launch. However, right now it’s too soon to say how long this support will continue. It’s also too soon to say if there will be any major new content added to the game in the future. We want to be transparent about that and not make any promises that we can’t keep.
We will announce any news about the future of Lightyear Frontier on our usual channels!
Is the game coming to Playstation 5 or Switch 2?
We’ve seen your demand and are looking into porting to other platforms in the future. Nothing confirmed yet, so keep an eye out!
