Lightyear Frontier is an open-world farming exploration game with crafting, resource management and base building, wrapped in a mystery-driven narrative with a cosmic country soundtrack. Play 1-4 players in online co-op, discover and cultivate alien plants, take care of wildlife, endure the elements and build your new home away from home!
FRAME BREAK is a small game development studio headquartered in Skövde, fully owned by Amplifier Game Invest. FRAME BREAK aims to build a creative environment where all employees have input on the entire creative process in order to make diverse and impactful games that break the mold!
Lightyear Frontier will be available on PC and Xbox Series S/X release, and also via Game Pass on day one!
Lightyear Frontier is more focused on its exploration and farming aspects and won’t have combat included; however, you’ll face challenges as you build your farm, such as adverse environmental conditions, alien fauna and more.
Lightyear Frontier will be releasing into Early Access/Game Preview Early 2024.
Yes! This was an highly requested feature by our community and earlier in 2023 we implemented the ability to exit the mech which you can read more about in our "Out-of-mech experience" blog post!
At the moment, we are prioritizing customization options for the mech. We want to provide players with a solid set of cosmetics and personalization for their mech at Early Access, but we are open to revisiting exofarmer customization during Early Access if enough interest is shown!
For a large system-driven game like Lightyear Frontier community involvement is a must, and we want to get our game into the hands of our players as early as possible. While we have a long-term plan for the game, community feedback will help us prioritize and iterate on the game’s features until the gameplay is just right.
Automation is definitely something we are looking into - for example having drones taking care of crops etc. However, we don't want to automate tasks too much since we want to keep it centered on the power and tools the player has with the mech.
